Art Installation Volunteer Coordinator (Temporary, Part-Time)
Temporary, Part-Time
September 1 – October 31, 2025
Position Overview
Dix Park Conservancy is seeking a detail-oriented, people-focused Volunteer Coordinator to lead all aspects of volunteer engagement for an international public art installation by Thomas Dambo. This temporary, part-time role will manage recruitment, scheduling, and onsite coordination of community volunteers during the sculpture build period in October 2025. You’ll be the go-to person for volunteers—helping ensure they have the tools, information, and support needed to contribute to this once-in-a-lifetime project.
About the project
Dix Park Conservancy has commissioned internationally renowned recycle artist Thomas Dambo to create a series of large-scale troll sculptures made entirely from reclaimed wood. Dambo’s whimsical, larger-than-life works have been installed in parks, forests, and urban spaces across the globe, inspiring wonder while promoting sustainability.
At Dix Park, the sculptures will be built over a three-week period in October 2025, with help from community volunteers. Volunteers will work alongside Dambo’s build team on a range of hands-on tasks, from preparing salvaged wood and handling tools to maintaining a safe and organized worksite.
