Superintendent's House

The Superintendent's House was built in 1923 and housed the Dorothea Dix Hospital Superintendent and his family. After renovations are completed, the Superintendent's House will serve as office space for the Dix Park Conservancy.

Physician's House

The Physician's House served as living quarters for single, male doctors and was built in the 1920s. Once renovation is completed, the Physician's House will provide meeting and classroom space for non-profits and community groups.

Gatekeeper's Cottage

The Gatekeeper's Cottage was built in 1923 and housed the Dorothea Dix Hospital Gatekeeper who secured the entrance and exit of the hospital grounds. Once renovations are completed, the Gatekeeper's Cottage will serve as a Visitor Center.

On March 8th, the Dix Park Conservancy Board toured the Dix Park Stone Houses to see the renovations that are currently underway. Renovation to both the interior and exterior of the houses is in progress, and we aim to open them to the public in early 2024. We look forward to making these houses into welcoming spaces for the entire community!
